Self Care is the Best Care: How I Keep Myself Balanced

Hey you guys!

Saturday got off to real chill start for me, and it was really nice. Normally I don’t give myself enough time to get everything done and I’m usually rushing from one thing to the next. But, Saturday was different. I woke up earlier than usual and was able to move through my morning routine at a leisurely pace. Getting Through COVID-19: Greenways and Trails

Hey y’all!

Hopefully the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here. I have been itching to get outside to enjoy the sunshine. I got fully dressed the other day to drop lunch off to Doug and I didn’t even get out of the car. That’s where I’m at by this point 😂. We’re heading into week three of being inside here in NC and I know we’re all focused on getting through COVID-19 as best we can.

5 Tips to Make Work From Home Better

Hey y’all!

If you live in North Carolina like me, then it’s been exactly one week and two days since our little corner of the world stopped. People who have never experienced work from home (like me) or spent consecutive weekends at home (like me) have suddenly found themselves getting reacquainted with their homes and roommates (including the ones who don’t pay bills).

Curvy Swimwear Powered by Artesands

Hey ya’ll

It’s officially spring here in North Carolina which means trips to the beach/lake/pool will quickly follow suit. That’s right! Swimwear season is upon us and I don’t know about y’all but that five pounds I was suppose to lose to prepare for summer didn’t happen. Honestly, swimsuit season can be daunting for women of all shapes and sizes. But, when you factor in the little extra meat on the bones it can be quite skressful! Not because we aren’t beautiful or have every right to embrace our curves, but because not everyone knows how to make curvy swimwear that flatters our bodies.

My New Favorite Wood Accessory for Fall

I’ve been collecting watches since I was about 20 years old. I haven’t counted in a while, but I would guess that I own around 15 or so watches. I used to get a watch to celebrate every special occasion. My husband even gifted me a watch for my first birthday we spent together. After only three months together, at that point, he could already tell how much I loved them.

Harper’s Parlour Nail Salon in Durham, NC.

Watching her in her element was moving. I’ve been getting my nails done bimonthly for 10 years and I’d never been to a nail salon owned by a woman who looked like me.

Hanes Mall Belk Educator Appreciation Event

Last Sunday at six in the evening, the Hanes Mall Belk turned into more than just a department store. For two hours it became a haven for educators – current and retired – and their families. The store remained open after hours to offer Forsyth County educators a night of fun and exclusive discounts in preparation for the start of the school year. I was just happy to be in the number!

Target Run and (your wallet is) Done!

Hey y’all! Despite what the title may suggest, this post is actually about a pretty successful target run. Really, I suppose that’s dependent upon what you would deem successful. If that includes parting with coin you didn’t intend to spend in Target, then this trip I’m about to speak of was in fact a success. C’mon! We’ve all fallen victim to the target okie doke! But, with that aside, I went in to get milk and came back with four really cute dresses all for around $100 (with my 5% discount)! Keep scrolling to take a looksee.
